The finale for the fourth season of the Skilled Expressive Entrepreneurial Designers (SEED) Show took place yesterday at Kampala Forest Resort. It was also Day 1 of Kampala Fashion Week 2017. The SEED Show targets young designers running fashion and designing businesses with designing skills, entrepreneurship, and innovation. It’s a three-part program that involves talent search and training, garments production and a competition at Kampala Fashion Week that places their brands in the public eye. Joanita Nakigudde emerged tonight’s winner after a rigorous selection exercise by the judges. Joanita beat other nine budding fashion designers. She won an accolade that comes with a chance to showcase her own collection at Kampala Fashion Week 2018. She will also get to be promoted on the US Embassy’s Facebook page with over 200,000 fans and a one-year mentorship Kas Wear (Ras Kasozi). She will also get VIP treatment at this year’s edition of the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) scheduled for 8th December at Kampala Serena.
