South Africa Tourism has also partnered with JSF as another way of attracting visitors to
South Africa. Evelyn Mahlaba, the Regional Director for Africa at South Africa Tourism said in a recent interview with fashion256.com, that lifestyle is one way getting people to visit South Africa. “To make a destination more attractive, you need to promote what people travel for and lifestyle is one of the ways to attract travelers from countries like Uganda,” she said. She also revealed that South African Tourism, the agency charged with marketing South Africa (SA) to tourists, sees fashion as one of the ways to increase the number of people visiting SA.
“Fashion is one way of showcasing the African culture and the advancements we have made. It also has an aspect of music. Music is very core in promoting the culture of a country,” she said.
The agency has already engaged Ugandan fashion designer Santa Anzo to be one of its influencers in Uganda. Santa is the brain behind the label, ARAPAPA by SANTA ANZO, which made 15 years of existence on 25th July.
We shall be sharing more information about the event as it comes in.
