Bobbin Case to represent Uganda at Africa Fashion Reception 2017


Fashion designer Bobbin Case born Najib Mukasa will represent Uganda at this year’s edition of Africa Fashion Reception (AFR). The event is underway in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Bobbin is a Ugandan fashion designer based in Nairobi, Kenya. Many will remember him as one half of the Bobbin and Seif duo that have showcased allover the continent including Kampala Fashion Week. Seif Nasa has since relocated, splitting the team. Bobbin Case aka Fabric Murderer has been nominated and won several fashion awards for his unlimited creativity. The AFR will be presenting Africa’s best and most creative designers, producers of shoes, bags, jewelries, make up, beauty & hair products to the global market. To be eligible to participate, these products must be locally sourced and produced in Africa. Most importantly, they must be produced with global best practices.

Legendary Gold Limited presents the event in partnership with African Union and UNESCO.

Africa Fashion Business Summit

The 2nd Africa Fashion Business Summit that will take place during the Africa Fashion Reception in Addis Ababa. The theme for this year’s summit is ‘Creating Wealth for African Economies through its Fashion, Garment and Textile Industry’. International fashion experts will address the summit.

Other African fashion designers whose outfits are expected on the runway include Rachou Olombe from D.R Congo, Franck Gnamien of Ivory Coast, Nigeria’s Oreva Okowa, Thembani Mubochwa from Zimbabwe and Tabo Makheta representing South Africa.
