When fresh graduate Suesanne Tusiime started her online shopping hub called Paple Rayn, many would not have imagined that her vision of providing cutting edge fashion items to fashion forward clients would come to such a big success. Three years later, she has built a big brand and is a force to reckon with following the launch of her clothing line, Paple Rayn Hub. To mark the milestone and success over the years, she hosted a well-attended fashion show held at the Forest Mall Lugogo parking lot. The event will give fashion lovers so many talking points until the next big fashion event which will possibly be Kampala Fashion Week. That’s how big it was.
The lineup for the fashion showcase was more than impressive. Mosaic Fashion House, Vencyz World, Lauma Lingerie, Anita Beryl Qouture and K-Rafael showcased in that order before Paple Rayn Hub closed a night of wonderful showcases. For the performances new kid on the dancehall block Ceaserous and the dancing duo of Viccy and Rosemerie entertained the guests. Every collection was a highlight of its own. Vencyz tickled the mind of anyone planning a wedding but has the think outside the box. The collection had ideas for those daring enough to show inches and inches of skin via a see-through plus those red carpet moments for the fashionably edgy.
Anita Beryl wowed with her well-put together combo of lace and gold with matching gold jewelry headpieces. Each female model looked like a princes. She spelt royalty. Raphael Kasule of K-Rafael continued on his futuristic path. Uganda’s budding film industry should take note before the Nollywood or even Hollywood grab him for his talented hands. The sight of model Ronnie Volts, decked in a K-Rafael leather jacket with metallic gold details riding a hoover board was lie a scene from a movie. In an evening of so many wow moments, somehow Sauti Ya Africa’s unveiling as the brand’s ambassadors right after their awesome performance stood out. The pop operatic quartet have attained the highest qualifications in voice as an instrument from the reknown Associated board of the Royal Schools of Music in the United Kingdom. They have performed for audiences many Ugandan musicians can only dream of including, Bill Clinton, the Queen of England and Prince Charles among many others. The Paple Rayn Hub’s latest collection closed the night’s action. The collection has a versatile and unique character with its stitching and fabric style aimed at dressing a modern-day dapper man.
