Due to high demand of well-trained beauticians, Kennedy Zziwa of Hairbyzziwa has decided to launch the Zziwa Hair Academy with registration currently ongoing at the Kisementi based studio. Speaking to this blog, the award-winning hairstylist said the graduates from beauty schools around are lacking in skill. “Most of the stylists trained by most beauty schools are below average and I find it hard to get employees. I have to train them again while employing them. Their standards are very low,” he said. So his academy that will have students get hands on training will be geared at producing ready-to-employ people. They will receive training in pedicure, manicure and other cosmetology related courses. In addition to training those that need to go into the beauty business, Zziwa also wants to extend a Corporate Social Responsibility hand to juveniles in places like Kampigirisa Rehabilitation Centre. “The kids have lost hope of a great future, so when I give them skills, they can always start from there whenever they leave. With skills, you can always survive,” he said. Zziwa has many years of experience six of them from a hair studio in China.
