Fashion designers in Uganda have the opportunity to showcase in the USA. If you have been waiting for a lifetime opportunity, it is high time you heeded to Baltimore Fashion Week’s call for international designers. Ms Sharan Nixon, the founder/president of the Fashion Umbrella Foundation, made the announcement. The foundation organizes Baltimore Fashion Week. It is one of the fundraiser events with proceeds going towards the foundation’s activities that are geared towards championing underserved youths by providing social, educational and mentoring opportunities for a bright future. The 2018 edition scheduled for August 17-19 will be the eleventh. It is also Baltimore’s longest running annual fashion event. The theme “Art Is Alive” is an open invitation for all creators of style and fashion. If you are capable of bringing fibres, colors, or sustainable materials to life, then the team is ready to market you during the upcoming runway production.
Previously Claire Kigozi of Claire’s Designs and Eguana Kampala have showcased. They have described the event as professional, highly organized and a great networking opportunity for any designer seeking to go international.
The past 10 events have attracted over 15,500 guests and got even bigger and better last year, as the production moved to a bigger venue – the Columbus Center.
